They&#8217;re fun to make, super cute and a nice change from the standard valentines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will need:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Small plastic shovels in any color (consider your school colors)<br \/>\n\u2022 Your favorite valentine treats or candies<br \/>\n\u2022 Clear cellophane, cut into 10\u201d squares, or small plastic bags<br \/>\n\u2022 Ribbon in any size or color you like.<br \/>\n\u2022 Paint pen or permanent marker (in contrasting color to the shovel)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong><br \/>\nWith your marker, write \u201c<strong>I Dig You!<\/strong>\u201d on each shovel, as pictured. If desired, decorate with Heart Stickers or other valentine decorations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong><br \/>\nCut cellophane into a 10&#8243; square. Wrap a small amount of Valentine&#8217;s candy with the cut cellophane. Tie candy bag with ribbon to handle of plastic shovel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Valentine Shovel Variations:<\/strong><br \/>\nWho says only pink and red are appropriate for Valentine\u2019s Day? Get creative with different colored shovels, cellophane and ribbon. Coordinate your school colors or mix it up and let the kids choose their colors. For treats consider candy hearts, jelly beans, gummy bears or small candies.
