A CPSC-accepted accredited third party laboratory tested children\u2019s graduation caps, gowns, and tassels from 18 brands currently sold in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results showed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alphabetu.com\/\">Alphabet U<\/a>\u2019s products are safer than those of other suppliers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Alphabet U PASSED all CPSIA Requirements <\/strong><br>No toxic chemicals, phthalates, or heavy metals, like lead, were found in any of Alphabet U\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alphabetu.com\/caps-and-gowns\/caps\">caps,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alphabetu.com\/caps-and-gowns\/gowns\">gowns<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alphabetu.com\/accessories\/tassels\">tassels<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>82% of the other brands FAILED CPSIA testing <\/strong><br>53% of those brands were found to have at least one component that contained a toxic heavy metal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CPSIA? What\u2019s That?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act is a law that regulates the safety of consumer products in the United States. It sets safety requirements for manufacturers, distributors, retailers, importers, and private labelers.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lead in paint and similar surface coatings<\/strong> <br>Children\u2019s products must not include more than .01% of total lead content in painted component parts such as zippers, snaps, buttons, or screen printed coatings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Total lead content<\/strong><br>Children\u2019s products must not include more than .01% of total lead content in accessible component parts, such as zippers, snaps, or buttons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Phthalates<\/strong><br>The CPSIA restricts the use of toxic chemicals called phthalates to no more than .1% in any accessible component part.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Third-party testing<\/strong><br>The CPSIA requires testing for compliance to applicable safety rules by third-party CPSC-accredited laboratories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Certification<\/strong><br>Manufacturers and importers of children\u2019s products must include a Children\u2019s Product Certificate that certifies compliance with safety standards when distributing products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tracking labels<\/strong><br>Children\u2019s products must include distinguishing, permanent marks on products and packaging that give consumers information about the manufacturer and manufacture date, process, and location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Are Phthalates and Heavy Metals Really That Bad?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In a word? YES!
